Last time we shared an article with you in which we told you how to grow your organic reach. In this article, we also mentioned the importance of the right time of posting on Facebook. With new changes to Facebook's algorithm, it gets harder to deliver your content to other users.
Although the key might be consistency, you must do more than that.
What does the statistics show about the best times of when to post on Facebook? And how can you use it to find out your best times? That is what we are going to look at.
Getting your timing right
In 2016 the best time to post on Facebook was:
- between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
- between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. during the Weekends.
These are the times that can drag more likes, comments, and shares to your posts. But then again, this is very individual and depends purely on your target audience and its habits.
And that is the toughest problem of figuring out when posting on Facebook has the biggest impact.
The individuality of your target audience. Each and every company has to take its own approach to finding out the best time. Although it takes a little bit of time, everything you have to do is research.
How to find out the right time for posting on Facebook business page
When you are building your social media strategy or scheduling your posts, you have to think about two things.
- Consistency - if you start to post, do it regularly, don't miss out because that limits your reach and your brand awareness.
- Testing - there should be a variety not only in content but also in time.
Testing is the best tool that can dig out the right times of posting in the shortest time.
Let's say that you want to prepare and schedule at least 30 posts per month. That means you should assign different times to each post (or at least to each second post) and regularly check the results.
After a couple of weeks, you will surely be able to have some idea about the right time for your posts. Remember, this is very dependant on your audience and its size. As your audience gets bigger, it may happen that the best time will change.
The last step to making sure you post at the right time is reporting and analytics.
You have to pay a lot of attention to the metrics of every post and make decisions supported by facts. Not guesstimates.
With these steps, it's only a matter of testing until you figure out the right time for posting.
Test - analyze - apply. It's easy as that.
